THE RULES

Enrolling Your Dog

First Visit

On your first day, there will be some paperwork and admin to get through to finalise your dog’s enrollment. Please make time to complete the paperwork on your first day. (Around 15-20 minutes) and to ask any last-minute questions you may have. Please bring your vet book with proof of vaccinations.

Online Enrolments

The full enrolment application and submission of documents for your dog’s enrolment at The Dog House can be completed online HERE. So you will not need to make time to complete the paperwork in hardcopy on your first day.

Accidents & Injuries

Having a group of dogs together playing all day can result in small injuries occurring. Nipped ears, ripped toenails, conjunctivitis, strains, fleas and kennel cough are all common things we see here.

We do our best to prevent as much as we can but accidents can, and will happen. You can help us by ensuring that all your dog’s vaccinations - especially kennel cough vaccinations - flea and deworming treatments are up to date.

All of our staff are experienced, knowledgeable, calm under pressure and don’t panic when things go wrong. In the event of an injury or accident, our team will handle your pet with efficient expertise on-site and if necessary make contact with your vet if required.

The Rules

  • We do not accept non neutered adult male dogs. We will take non neutered male puppies up until puberty starts to dictate their behaviour (anything between 7 - 18 months old) When your male puppy enters puberty, there will be a stand-down period until they have been neutered.
  • We do not accept enrolments from aggressive dogs.
  • Please be respectful of our hours. We have a very strict consent and the hours are in place to prevent unnecessary noise. If you do need to pick your dog up outside of our normal pick up times, please make sure you contact a staff member so that they know you are coming.
  • Please ensure that your dog always arrives and leaves wearing a collar/harness that is attached to a lead.
  • All dogs enrolled at The Dog House must be fully vaccinated and have an annual kennel cough vaccination. The Dog House reserves the right to request proof of any vaccinations.
  • It is compulsory for all dogs to come to us for a free trial visit before any kennel stays to see if they will manage and if they are the right fit for our facilities. Please ensure you book your trial visit well in advance of your kennel stay in case you need to find other, more suitable, kennel accommodation.
  • If you suspect your dog has Kennel Cough or Conjunctivitis, please do not bring them to Daycare or Kennel stays.

Symptoms of Kennel Cough include a chronic, high pitched “honking” cough (main indicator), fever, lethargy, nasal or eye discharge, sneezing and loss of appetite.
  • All-female dogs that are on heat will have a 4-5 week stand down from daycare and kennels. It causes much excitement amongst the other dogs and they all rile each other up. We also don’t want accidents happening on our watch.
  • Pick up times are strictly enforced. After-hours pick-ups must be pre-arranged in advance - no exceptions. After hour pick-ups 5-6 pm $10 extra, after 6pm $20 extra.
  • For short kennel stays, please we request that you supply your dogs own food, this prevents unhappy stomach upsets from changing their diet to our food and then back to theirs again.
