Our kennels are designed to adapt to the seasons and the weather - we go the extra mile to make sure that our doggy visitors are comfortable and happy all year round.

Mid Canterbury is cold in the winter, so our winter kennels are all heated so you can rest assured that your dog sleeps snuggly all night long. On those extra cold nights, we have additional heating pads that are added to the heated kennels. They will keep them toasty warm for up to 14 hours - perfect for a snuggly warm sleep in.

Mid Canterbury can be really warm in summer, so we remove the kennels from the runs and give them lovely soft beds to sleep in. Sinking into a nice comfortable bed under shelter in a lovely big run is the perfect end to a big day of play and adventure.

Our little doggy friends are crated indoors, in a heated building at night all year round. 

The Dog House Kennel Dogs are only in their runs at night, the rest of the time they are free to play all day. No more being cooped up all day with a 30min run, not at The Dog House, we let everyone run free.

We monitor each dog and for dogs that are getting grumpy due to too much fun, they get a time out in their kennel run to grab a few extra hours of nap time.

We cater for overnight, short stays (weekends) and long stays (2 weeks to 3 months) and everything in between.

Please bring a blanket with their smell on it, a special toy or pillow or if you wish, you can bring their whole bed.

There is plenty of room in all runs to house any size bed. In winter we can add our heat packs under their blankets to keep them toasty warm.

For short kennel stays, please we request that you supply your dogs own food, this prevents unhappy stomach upsets from changing their diet to our food and then back to theirs again.
